Three ways to pay for health care expenses using your Health Savings Account

1. Use your Bank of America Health and Benefit Account Visa® debit card—it’s the easiest way to pay

Simply swipe or insert your card at checkout or use it to pay bills from your providers.

2. Pay the provider directly from the member website or MyHealth app

Just like you pay other bills online, you can also go online to pay for your health care expenses with funds from your health account. A check will generally be mailed to your provider within 3 to 5 days.

Recurring payments.
You can also schedule a payment to recur monthly or weekly. You can pick the day and select the start and end dates.

  • From the Home screen select “Send Payment” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the submission process.

MyHealth app

  • Select "Send Payment" and follow the instructions to complete the submission process.

3. Reimburse yourself

If you’ve already paid for qualified health care expenses out of your own pocket, you can reimburse yourself from the funds in your HSA.

  • From the Home screen select “Reimburse Myself” and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the submission process.

MyHealth app

  • Select "Reimburse Myself" and follow the instructions to complete the submission process.

Note: If you’ve already set up direct deposit, the money will be in your account within 2 business days. Otherwise a check will generally be mailed within 3 business days.
